The Moultrie NXT Hunter Feeder is a reliable, sturdy unit that is easy to set up and program. It runs at the prescribed times and set amounts, making it effective for attracting and feeding deer. It is durable enough to withstand the activity of wild hogs, but the raccoons are known to steal from the feeder spreader. It is common for deer to empty the feeder quickly by licking the hole where the feed comes out, but the problem can be solved by raising the feed higher by adding another section of legs or making a round cage out of wire. The feeder is not suitable for use with dry cob as it requires whole, clean kernel corn or corn mixed with soybeans or pellets. The feeder is powered by a 6 volt 5 amp safety battery, which is not included with the feeder.
