The ANVISION 4-Pack Gigabit PoE Splitter is a device that takes the power and data supplied by an Ethernet cable and splits the data and the power so they can be used independently. A customer said that they are running a camera and an IR light off each one and are pleased with the performance. However, an IT professional with over 35 years of experience said that the adapter was of poor quality and that he had purchased a four-pack and used it to power several different 12V devices, but that the first one he pulled out was dead on arrival. Another died after two weeks, and the third is still working, but he is planning to remove it before it fails. The fourth one he tried to install lasted about 20 minutes before his PoE switch warned of over-voltage and just started flashing. The customer also commented that the product did not fit on PTZOptics cameras and that the company should be more specific about what their products fit/don't fit, or provide adapters to make them more universal. He said he was disappointed that he had to send it back and find one that did fit. There was also a positive review from a customer who installed the camera outside and was pleased that they did not need to pull out a cord every time and they liked how they could use a wired connection for the camera, as it could be used in places where Wi-Fi does not reach. Finally, the customer recommended to waterproof the PoE splitter before installation, as it is not waterproof.
