If you're not sure if you need the a9, it may be better to go for the a7riii. Unfortunately, there is no news regarding the firmware update to enable s-log 1 or 2 on the a9, so if you're interested in that, you'll have to wait for an announcement from Sony. Additionally, the free grip costs an extra $350, but there are alternative options available such as the Meike grip which has plastic parts and holds two standard A9 batteries. The a9 is a US model, with an optical sensor resolution of approximately 24.2-megapixel.
