The SSK M.2 NVME SATA Tool-Free SSD Enclosure Adapter Reader is an external solid state drive case that supports UASP Trim for various M.2 M-key and M+B-key devices. Its high-performance controller chip (JMS583) allows up to 10Gbps high-speed data transmission with PCIe and 6Gbps SATA MKeyBM Key. It uses a USB C 3.13.2 Gen 2 interface, and no separate Thunderbolt 3 cable is needed as it uses USB-C cabling. However, if the USB port used does not have sufficient power, the SSD may not be recognised. The enclosure works effectively with software such as Samsung Migration for cloning, but may be bottlenecked by the port it is plugged into, especially for storage purposes. A sliding case design is used, but the removal of the cover is optional though not recommended. The device is good for long term use as the TIM effectively transfers heat, though one user experienced problems with serial numbers and temperatures being blank. In terms of its use cases, it is suitable for data transfer and cloning, but may not be necessary for a regular external drive for storage as it negates the purpose of an nvme's speed.
