The Parts2O FPS17-66 Vertical Float Switch is a watertight switch that activates a pump when the float rises due to higher water levels. It can handle a 3/4 hp pump but it is not clear if it is safe to use with drinking water from a well system. The operating range is estimated to be 6 to 8 inches between on versus off. The switch has a short rod. Some customers reported that the product they received looked different from the one displayed in the photo. However, it is a great replacement for pump switches that fail after long and hard service. It can also be used for a toilet flush or to control the water level in an above ground pool. The switch is easy to set up and adjust, and it has been working great for some customers for a month or so now.
