The updated sensors have a wider maximum gap, work well with temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, and feature a button that communicates the range directly with the Base Station. The Door sensors do not operate alone, which means users may have to combine them with a Ring System. Customers are highly responsive and magnet can be installed up to 1/2-inch away from the transmitter. However, the product may be difficult to connect to some devices, not work alone without the Ring System, ship with batteries indicating low battery warnings, and don't communicate directly with the Ring app.
