It's also been noted that the device tends to get quite hot, which could affect device performance in the long run. However, the device does come with a dedicated physical COM port for a serial console, which is useful for pfSense troubleshooting or any other serial communication. IRQs and IPS work quite well, runs around 28-48% of memory, and CPU runs around 15%. On the bright side, the support team for Protectli is responsive and helpful when there are issues with the device, and good reviews have cited the device as keeping pace with beautiful 1Gbps network speed setups, and being a reliable and compact device for running a stand-alone pfSense firewall.
