The wire connection for the normally open and normally closed positions is shown in the instructions. The unit can be adjusted to control the on/off cycle, but the depth limit is controlled by the length of the float wire position. This device does not contain any mercury. However, it may not be suitable for use with a 5000 gallon storage tank as the depth limit may not accommodate it. If unsure, use another method for depth measurement.
