The Petzl Pulley is a compact, light and strong pulley designed to work with ropes ranging from 7mm to 11mm, it does not have a speed rating but offers weight ratings of 2kN and 4kN. The pulley is ideal for use in applications such as a suspended dog tie out in the backyard. However, it is not suitable for use on a zip line as it can be dangerous unless in an emergency. It is also not suitable for use as the main pulley in a 1:1 or 3:1 rescue kit. In terms of quality, the plastic pulley wheel is slightly sticky, loud and cheapish in comparison with an alternative product, the FIXE, which is only slightly more expensive but delivers a better experience. However, the Petzl Pulley is said to do its job when used as downstream pulley in a 3:1 system.
