I may have to return mine. How can I loosen the pole?

To loosen the pole, grip the bottom pole and turn the upper pole counterclockwise to adjust its height. If you're unable to do this, contact the seller and provide your order number for assistance.

Does pet hair shake out of it easily or do you have to wash it after every use?

Pet hair can be shaken out quite easily by beating the mop with your hand. Washing it about once a month should be sufficient.

There are 2 yellow plastic bolts that hold the handle on, one fell off and got lost. Are there replacements for that part?

You can try going to your hardware store and replacing it with the same size metal bolt. It's worth a try.
