Anime Editorial Review
In the anime movie Twittering Birds Never Fly, the characters are voiced perfectly, the plot is easy to follow, and the adaptation from the print anime is well done. The tension and attraction between the characters are preserved and the changes to the manga storyline are thoughtfully edited. However, one detail was edited out and it could affect viewers' understanding and appreciation of the BL attachments among the characters. The extras section features shorts where the manga characters transform into cats and dogs. Although the movie is not appropriate for children, it is a good introduction to the manga, as it motivated one viewer to buy the manga. The DVD is not streamable, which could increase sales if it was. While the first part covers everything in the first volume of the manga, some parts are missing, and the storyline is disturbing, with sexual abuse and violence related to organized crime. Trigger warnings are needed. The music is, however, very good.
