The Super Blue Drop-in Welding Lens is designed to shield your eyes from UltraViolet (UV), InfraRed (IR), and the bright visible light that can be painful if not properly filtered. While standard dark welding filters block the dangerous invisible energies, they still allow through the yellow and near orange flare of the welding arc, which can interfere with your view of the work. That's where the Super Blue lens comes in. Our drop-in filter lens is made of polycarbonate material and effectively blocks the yellow and yellow/orange line of the visible spectrum (589-600nm), enabling you to see more clearly.
The arc is greatly diminished, and any yellow/orange flare is eliminated, giving you a better view of your work. Please note that the Super Blue lens is designed to be used ONLY in addition to your standard welding shade. It adds about 1/2 of a shade, so you can simply use your normal lens for the work. DO NOT USE IT AS A STAND-ALONE LENS! Permanent eye damage can and most likely will occur if used alone. To use the Super Blue Drop-in Welding Lens, simply drop it behind your standard shade and cover lens.
Protect it from spatter, as it is made of polycarbonate and may pit if spatter hits it. With proper care, the lens will provide you with years of trouble-free service. To clean the lens, rinse it with water before drying it off with a clean, soft cloth or a new paper towel. Avoid mixing the lens in a tool kit without proper covering, as it may scratch.
