However, the other chemical, Ferro Potassium Cyanide, is not sold together with the product, and it is available in a different packaging, making it useless without the Ferric Ammonium Citrate. Despite the product being essential for cyanotype photography, some customers have reported problems with its effectiveness. Two customers reported purchasing the product twice and mixing it into the formula, but both times it did not work. The reason behind this inConsistency is unknown, but it could be attributed to light exposure or humidity in the supply chain.
