The case is relatively quiet and sound dampening material can be added for additional quietness. The materials used in the case, however, feel flimsy and the aluminum panels could be sturdier. Some reviewers had concerns about the backplane connectors, which are not robust, have nothing physically securing them to the board, and may break easily. Users can replace the included fans with higher speed ones or install fewer drives into the cage to improve airflow, keeping in mind that hard drives do not perform any better when cooled down close to room temperature. The LED itself cannot be disabled, but the clear plastic light guide on the drive tray may be broken or covered up with a dark tape. Overall, the SilverStone Technology CS380 8-Bay Compact ATX Tower case is a good fit for a home server with a high storage capacity that can handle plenty of HDDs.
