The PCA9685 PWM module is a reliable and efficient device that works as expected with a low dropout rate. It supports I2C addresses by soldering jumper pads to select the address, and can also disable I2C pull-up resistors using exposed traces. Although it lacks a pin for the address, it is still considered cheap, small, and convenient to use. Some customers had difficulties finding the information they needed to set up the device, and one out of four circuits was missing or broken in a package that had clearly been mishandled. On a larger scale, this repackaging and inspection method would not make sense given the price per item and operational inconsistencies. Overall, the PCA9685 PWM module is a dependable and easy-to-use device at a great value -- as long as the individual product is not damaged upon delivery.
