The Cooper DFP450W Digital Pocket Test is a thermocouple with a huge range before calibration would fail. It can be used to measure the temperature of oil when frying and even measuring below freezing point liquids though it is advised to reach out to the manufacturer about using it to measure below freezing. It comes with a clip but it's more for attaching to your shirt. The metal shaft is 4 1/8 inches; the probe or the thin part of the shaft at the end is about 1/2 Inch. Customers loved this product and claim it's very reliable, easy to use, clean and are impressed with its accuracy. However, some customers would like a side display or a left-hand option to flip the display 180 degrees.
