The included cooling fan is not loud and can be wired for two-speed options. The size of the fan is 35mm. Theoretically, it's feasible to change the fan speed through a potentiometer, but you should test it yourself. The case is very tight, so it's not ideal for adding another board. It fits only a Pi 3B+. According to customers, it doesn't matter which way the fan is set, in or out. The maximum temperature attained with a heavy stress test is 60 degrees centigrade, well below the maximum throttle back temperature of 85 degrees centigrade. **
