It is specifically designed to be used with diamond grit concrete or stone sanding disks. This pad requires water to be used on top of the concrete surface to keep it wet while polishing. However, if you have a variable speed grinder and the proper polishing pad attached, you can also use it to polish your car. The polishing pad needs to run at a low speed to prevent any circular patterns on the car surface. The Stadea Rubber Backing Pad is relatively stiff, not entirely rigid, but not soft rubber either. It fits any angle grinder with a 5/8" arbor. The manufacturer recommends a polishing motor and a maximum of 4000 rpm (Harbor Freight). Overall, the Stadea 5" Rubber Backer Pad is excellent quality, but it is essential to check the maximum RPM of your grinder or buffer before using it.
