The Brother HC1850 is a feature-packed machine with several accessories, including the quilting foot, walking foot and stitch guide foot to stitch in the ditch or for 1/4 piecing foot. Some cons are that it struggles to handle heavy fabrics and also to handle thicker seams. Unlike its counterpart the XS2100, it does not come with a case. Other reviewers have noted that the digital screen shows stitch length, width, style and suggestion for the applicable presser foot, while others have found it less user-friendly for threading, among other things. The machine is fairly lightweight and compact, making it useful for quilters or users going to sewing classes. The manufacturer's warranty on parts is limited.
