The SG-3100 was described by some users as running hot and often quit working, and was unable to run Suricata or pfblockerNG or ntoping without overheating to the point of failure. It was said to be unstable and faulted within days of purchase by some, although others praised its ease of set up and functionality, particularly its logging and VLAN features, and its ability to handle a 500MB fiber connection.
