J-B Weld SteelStik is a Steel Reinforced Epoxy Putty Stick with a 1-hour cure time. It sets in about 3-5 minutes and is rated at a tensile strength of 900 PSI. After curing for 60 minutes, it can be drilled, tapped, machined, ground, filed, and painted. This product is very versatile, and it can be used for repairing cast metal such as cracked engine cases, blocks, or patching holes in metal. It can also be used to fill small gouges on cars, but it should be sanded carefully once it hardens. It can be painted over and is impact-resistant. However, it does not work well on glass and cannot be used on anything that is forged or under stress. The manufacturer recommends using JB Weld Plastic Bonder 50133 if the type of plastic is unknown. Its shelf life may be limited.
