The filter is a cost-effective replacement for Amway E84 water filters that can be used for up to a year. It is compatible with older Amway filters but may not perform as well as the previous brand. The filters come in a two-pack, and they are easy to install with no issues according to most customers. The filter comes with scanty instructions that advise flushing it for 10-15 minutes before use. The initial flushing removes the carbon fines from the filters that cause the taste and numbers issues. The filter comes with a black flat washer but no gasket. It is not recommended to run hot water through this filter, and it may not perform well for some customers. Some customers have reported cloudy water and tiny bubbles after flushing the filter. Others have reported a horrible taste and slow water flow. Despite these drawbacks, most customers have found the filter to be a great value for their money.
