Jecta is a product intended to eliminate existing wood-destroying insects and fungal infestations, and to provide residual protection. It can be used on a variety of wooden structures including fencing, decks, logs and flooring. A caulk gun tube gives a continuous ¼ inch bead of roughly 30-31 ft. A 10x10x6ft log needs about 250cc's of the product. The tube needs a 3/8 inch hole in the wood to insert the nozzle. The instructions for application are specific about drilling depth and spacing. It is recommended not to waste the product on dead trees, but to use it in areas where wood decay or insects are present or in vulnerable areas vulnerable to infestation. The product comes in a 14 oz (300 cc) tube which can load into a common style caulking gun, and will kill a variety of insects and prevent the spread of moisture fungi.
