If money is not an issue, then it is a good investment for the future. However, beginners are recommended to learn basic skills with DDJ 400 before moving on to DDJ REV-1. The software works with Djay Pro AI and Serato DJ Pro, but it can only be used for basic functionality as a stand-alone mixer without the software. The device has all pro components and high-quality materials. It is perfect for learning and live streaming, but its plastic pieces are disappointing, and the headphone volume knob may become loose and wiggle after a few months of use. Also, Serato is regarded as clunky professional software that behaves like it was made by a middle schooler.
