This wall vent kit is a standard 10'' x 3-1/4'' appliance vent to 6'' duct adapter that can be used for range hoods and microwaves. It does not come with a screen to keep animals out. The entire duct is around 8'', with the 6'' duct part extending about 3'' above the tapered duct. The transition boot allows you to connect flexible duct to the microwave. Some people have had issues with the recommended hole saw blade at 6 inches because the piping is 6 inches. The kit works with all models of vented hoods but it does not meet IRC 2012 or higher regulations. Reviews are mixed, with some customers finding it cheaply made and difficult to install while others have found it to be a good purchase.
