It can take anywhere from 20-40 minutes for an elementary school-aged child to excavate each brick. The bricks' numbers correspond to different fossils, and the set includes educational cards to learn about and chart the fossils. Many customers enjoyed this product, using it as a classroom activity or for a summer camp project. Parents liked that their children could learn about fossils while enjoying a fun activity. However, one customer noted that some of the supposed "real fossils" were actually replicas or casts, and some received shipments where two of the bricks were empty.
