Although, the instructions could have been better, and some reviewers had difficulty installing it due to a stuck hinge bracket. The carrier can handle up to 38" tires without any issues. It's important to know that the tailgate will be harder to open after the installation, which may require proper lubrication of the hinge. The third brake light extension needs to be checked because it is shorter than it should be, and the tire holder needs a bigger hole in the centre to allow cables to pass through it. In summary, The Rugged Ridge Heavy Duty Tire Carrier is a worthwhile purchase to reinforce the hinge and prevent door sag.
