It is highly recommended to watch a Youtube video on Castles of Burgundy before playing, as it is not a game of Sorry or Candyland. The game is easy to learn, does not take a lot of concentration and can be enjoyed by as many as 8 players, which makes it a great game for social gatherings. It has good replay value as the tile layout is likely never the same from game to game, and learning the tile patterns' effects on movement will improve your strategy skills. However, it has a fair amount of randomisation and luck in which tiles you will receive after your turn.
