It comes with a free Ableton Live 9 intro software, and it is compatible with Ableton Live 11. The pads only work to launch clips, and it works perfectly fine with FL Studio 12 and N1 Maschine. It allows live looping and variation but requires a computer to be used while using it live. Overall, customers are satisfied with the performance of the AKAI APC40 MKII, which they consider an affordable compliment to Ableton.
