The IK Multimedia iRig PRE is a preamp that converts a 3.5 mm input audio from a microphone into a line-level signal for mobile devices. The product is versatile and useful and can work with Android and iOS devices provided there is an app that supports input audio through the 3.5 mm audio jack. The device has an XLR input and isn't designed to be a multi-jack input type. However, the user can connect their lapel mic to the device with a female XLR to 1/8th male adapter. The sound quality is studio grade and has phantom power. The downside is that the device will give static noise or knocking sounds when the 9V battery power is at 50%.
