The Jim Dunlop MC401 MXR Boost/Line Driver pedal is a transparent, clean boost that enhances the signal strength and smooths out the drive channel of the amps. It does not change or color the tone but rather boosts it. Users have achieved great results when used with Fender-like amps and have noted that it offers a mild break-up when turned to high dB settings. The pedal works great as a buffer for bass pedalboards, and it features a high-quality line buffer to provide good signal strength throughout the chain. The pedal's boost feature allows for adjusting the volume, depending on where one is playing and the required sound level. It also offers an adjustable boost level, making it flexible. However, some reported interference on the dirty channel on a Fender Super Sonic 60 Watt tube amp, which was not experienced on a Marshall TSL 2000. The dimensions of the pedal are 4.5" L x 2.3" W.
