The CHUMMA Grass Plugger is a tool that is made in China. It is recommended for use on bluegrass and cold weather perennial grass only. It does its job well on these grass varieties, producing crisp and solid cores. The plugger seems to have multiple uses as it has been used for metal detecting. However, it is not suitable for removal of excess turf around irrigation sprinkler heads. The handle to the shaft weld does not seem to be sufficient for soil harder than soft sandy soil, and the weld could break. The tool comes wrapped in a plastic wrap that is difficult to get rid of, and the handle is made of inferior aluminum which stained the hands and clothing. It also seemed to be of cheap Construction, with bad welds and soft metal that bends easily. The cutting edge is also not sharpened.
