The Arturia MicroFreak is a digital polysynth with analog filters. It has MIDI in and out, and users can connect an external 61 key keyboard. The sequencer can quantize while playing in real-time. The product comes with dual MIDI adapter plugs but no audio cables. It does not include a microphone, which could be used with the Vocoder Edition. The output level is assumed to be -10. The Arturia MicroFreak is sensitive to humidity and grounding. Some users have experienced problems with the keyboard keys not registering. However, it is a powerful and portable synth with an impressive amount of features packed into a tiny package. The keyboard is great to play on, and the default presets and sequences are off the hook. Its complexity can be challenging, and almost every device connected to it can break the sequencer and arpeggiator. The MIDI control software has been reported to be challenging to use. Overall, the Arturia MicroFreak is a great synth for those who like to make weird noises and have near-unlimited customization on a budget.
