It raises about 9 inches and has a pneumatic support rod that acts as a damping buffer for slow closing. The hinges can't tilt up after being raised. The length of the screw is 0.63 inches, the diameter is 1/4 inch, and the offset distance of the bottom mounting holes to the hinge point is 7 inches. Overall, customers think the product is useful, sturdy, and priced well. Some found the installation process complicated, and one review mentioned that the gas in one of the hinges stopped working within four days. Other customers had issues with instability and the need for stabilizing bars. Others suggest using masking tape to hold the bracket in the down position while installing the brackets.
